APRIL 13, 2024

The meeting of the WLE POA Recreation Committee was called to order by Tri Chair Martin Logue at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the Adult Lodge.  Twenty-nine members stood and repeated the Pledge of Allegiance.  Board liaison Scott Healy was present.

Minutes for March were sent via e-mail to all members. A motion was made by Al Cucciniello to accept the minutes as presented; seconded by Diane Sutton. All were in favor; none opposed.  Minutes were accepted.  In May’s meeting, Terry Cucciniello asked that the April minutes reflect the correct Comedy Night dates.  They will be May 25 and July 20.

The treasurer’s report for March 2024 was read by tri-chair Joey Marino. Balance forwarded on February 29, 2024, was $48,196.02.  Total revenue was $2,015.84; total expenses were $3,363.60. Ending balance at March 31 was $47,568.26.

Our account includes checking, Venmo $500.00 and CD of $10,000.00 for a grand total of $58,068.26.  Stephanie Bradford made a motion to accept March’s Treasurer’s report, second by Michelle Logue.  All were in favor, no opposition, March’s report accepted as presented.

In March, the committee determined the Venmo account cost too much and wanted Lorraine to add Venmo $ amount ($500) back to checking account.  Brenda Basenese felt this was a bad decision and elaborated.  She personally has received many requests from part-time residents asking how to pay for events.  Cassandra Galovic shared the same issue and has used her personal account to facilitate Venmo purchases.  Much discussion relative to Venmo.  Account needs a telephone number and that is part of expense. However, event chairpeople feel strongly that attendance would be decreased dramatically without the ability to pay for event other than in person. Committee agreed Venmo account should stay viable, cost of line not an issue.
