- 1/18/25 Mike made a motion to amend a previous motion dated 12/15/12 by Dan Braun. It will now read, “to accept the definition of the annual period for determination of excess water usage to be December 1 through November 30 or at the time of the sale of a house.” The motion was seconded by Jerry and unanimously approved.
- 1/18/25 Bruce made the motion that on February 1, 2025 the building fee for new construction will be increased to $3000. It was seconded by Al and unanimously approved.

1/18/25 – Consensus to the Occupancy Rental Rule:
b. Anyone violating the 2-year rental moratorium will be fined $1,000.00 and will cease renting until the time of moratorium has expired. (2/19/22)Anyone not notifying the office before renting or advertising their home for rent will be fined $1,000.00, to continue to rent the owner must come into compliance of the Property Occupancy Policy for long-term or short-term renting. Any advertising of a property for long-term or short-term rentals, will be deemed that the property is available to be rented. Advertising will include but not be limited to written, verbal, online and any social media platforms. All fees must be paid before advertising. (1/18/25)
i. A property owner may advertise a Long Term & Short Term Rental as long as the WLEPOA fees are paid and the STR Township approval is forwarded to POA Office prior to advertising. (1/18/25)
ii. A rental can be advertised 6 months prior to the expiration date of the 2-year moratorium provided the WLEPOA fees are paid and the STR township approval paperwork has been submitted to WLEPOA. (1/18/25)
- 11/13/24 Kathleen made a motion to amend the rule for modified golf carts to be the same the UTVs in terms of the age requirements. The motion was seconded by Mike. Six of the Board members voted in favor of this, with Bruce dissenting.
- 10/19/24 Jerry made the following motion, seconded by Kathleen. Increase the Long Term Rental from $500 annually to $700 annually. This was unanimously approved.
- 10/19/24 Mike made a motion to add to the WLE Rules & Regulations a rule that will protect the WLE Public Safety Department from being disrespected or threatened while on/off duty while acting in the performance of their duties and has identified themselves. Motion was seconded by AL and passed 6 to 1. Bruce voted against it.
Public safety officers Violations: disrespect, non-compliance/threatening behavior, assault etc.
If you encounter a WLE public safety officer, whether in uniform or plain clothes, and regardless of whether they are on duty or off duty, you, as a WLE property owner, renter, or guest, are required to comply with their requests or orders, provided they have identified themselves and are acting in the performance of their duties.
Any non-compliance, including but not limited to failing to provide identification when asked, not obeying commands, leaving a vehicle stop, eluding, etc., shall be grounds for a fine.
A fine of $500.00 will be issued for the first offense. Fines will double for each subsequent incident involving the same offender.
If at any scene or incident a public safety officer is threatened with physical harm, assaulted, spat at, or subjected to any overt act intended to cause harm or impede their duties, this shall also be grounds for a fine.
A fine of $2,500.00 will be issued for the first offense in this category, with fines doubling for each subsequent incident involving the same offender.
Public safety officers are to be respected. If an offender believes they were not treated professionally, they may file a written report with the Chief of Public Safety or the General Manager.
- 9/21/24 Al made the following motion, seconded by Jerry:
If anyone begins doing work that requires a fee or non-fee permit without obtaining a permit before work starts, the fine will be $250. If the work is started before approval is given or continues after a stop works order is given verbally or written, the fine will be $1,000.
This was unanimously approved.
- 8/17/24 Kathleen made the motion to change the rules under “Standards for Utility Vehicles” from “Drivers 18 & older must have a valid state drivers’ license for automobiles” to “Drivers 18 through 21 must have a valid state drivers’ license for automobiles or be 21 years or older and have completed a drivers’ safety course.” The Motion was seconded by Mike. The vote was 5 in favor with Bruce and Scott dissenting.
- 8/17/24 Kathleen made the motion to change the rules under “Standards for Utility Vehicles” from “2 passengers only” to “in accordance to manufacturer specifications.” The motion was seconded by Dean and unanimously approved.
