RECREATION COMMITTEE MINUTES
The meeting of the WLE POA Recreation Committee was called to order by Tri Chair Terry Cucciniello at
10:01 a.m. Saturday, February 11th, 2023 in the Adult Lodge. Members stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes
Minutes for January were sent to the members to review before meeting. Terry asked if there were any additions or corrections. There were not. Dan Braun made a motion to accept the minutes. seconded by Steve. All members voted with a raise of hands, no opposition, minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s report was read by Terry. Balance forwarded on 12/31/2022 was $36,606.74.

Dan Braun made a motion to accept Treasurer’s report, seconded by Steve. Raise of hands, no opposition; motion approved.
Old Business:
Event Packet– A meeting was held on January 29th and another meeting is scheduled for February 26th.
Upcoming Business:
Swim Team- Ed Jordan will be the representative for the swim team moving forward. Discussion involved the mapping of locations to solicit done by Carolyn Greig. Ed mentioned that only 4-5 people should be out soliciting. It was mentioned that more people from the swim team should be helping with the soliciting, Ed said that they are happy to help. Tara Stark said that the Craft Shop will donate a basket.
Super Bowl Party – Frank Carrotozzolo chairing for Sunday February 12, 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. 49 people signed up so far. $5.00 boxes for sale. Deadline to buy tickets is February 6. It is an adult only event, BYOB, Main Clubhouse.
Cardboard Sled Race – Cancelled due to lack of snow
Bonfire will take place Saturday, February 18 at 7:30 at Deer Beach. A new fire pit has been purchased for $235.
Family Bingo will be held during Presidents’ Weekend on Sunday, February, 19. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; play starts at 7:00 p.m. in the MCH. Marge Kenny will chair – Stephanie Bradford will help and become acquainted with system. Marge invited more volunteers to familiarize themselves with Bingo program.
Tara Stark will chair Adult Easter Egg Hunt after the children’s event, approximately at 6:00 p.m. in the Adult Lodge. There will be no admission fee. It will be Potluck dinner. Participants to bring six adult-themed eggs.
Wildlife Preservation Rehabilitation– Terry C. Scheduled for May 6th at 2:00pm. MCH. No admission. There will be about 8 live animals and discussions along with them.
*Tara Stark reminded us about paying Brooklyn $100.00 for her cash register, procedure was discussed, payment will be issued.
New Business:
Scavenger hunt– Memorial Day weekend, usually Saturday afternoon. Still working on a list of things to find for the hunt.
Memorial Bingo– Sunday May 28th. Doors open 6:30, play starts at 7:00 p.m. in the MCH. Chaired by Stephanie Bradford, Marge will shadow as Stephanie gets acclimated as she will be running summer bingo.
Guest speaker– Dan. Awaiting confirmation for Memorial Weekend. Will revisit next weekend.
Music in the Park– Dates are getting scheduled. Every other week, 7-9pm, Kasper field, no golf carts on ball field but they can be on the perimeter.

July 29th– The lights
August 12th– TBD
August 26th– The Fabulous 45’s
Motion to have Independence Day on July 1st: Approve Carol Greig, second Carolyn Guy. Opposed- none.
Casino Trip– Cancelled due to dramatic price increase. Will revisit next year.
Patty brought up Wine tour trip to the finger lakes. She and Terry C. will do research and revisit.

Stephanie Bradford will be secretary for March 2023 Meeting
Potential for a car show- To be discussed at next meeting
Flea market to be scheduled. Temperature was discussed. Will revisit to discuss date. No suggestions.
Fishing Derby -August 12th @ 10am. Will start on flyer.
*Steve brought up a recurring graphic on all of the Facebook pages to visit the new website because different people run each Facebook page. A lot of people do not know about the website. On the flyers, note “for more information visit”.
*Outdoor movies mentioned by Carol- TBD. Frank to do weekly movies.
*Terry C. made a motion to adjourn Carol Rivera and Nan Yack. All members agreed. Adjourned 10:35am.
